SIMPLE PLEASURES Operation Cockapoo Car Ride Desensitization. Pudge gets afraid in the car: shaking, whining, drooling, and last but not least, silent but deadly dog farts. The 5 hour car ride up north is always a challenge This year doggy downers and thunder jacket helped. We decided to start taking him with us for the morning drop off. I am not sure it is working, but he likes the part where he sticks his head out the window. Even though he is afraid of car rides, he ALWAYS wants to go with us. Either he is not very bright, or being deathly afraid is ok as long as he is with his loves. (Probably a little of both;)
