...SIN... SAINTS & SIN The Free Dictionary has defined a saint as an extremely virtuous person. This definition is what actually a new testament saint is. A saint is someone who by virtue of his/her relationship with Christ, has been recognised as having an exceptional degree of holiness. In the face of what weve been studying so far on the topic of sin, we shall consider scriptural definitions of the relationship of a saint with sin. Some of these are : 1. Saints are free from sin. This freedom is divinely made, not as a result of any special pious work exhibited by an individual - Rom 6:18 2. Saints are dead to sin - Rom 6:2, 11; 1Pet 2:24. Being dead to seen is the rendering powerless the power, presence, and punishment of sin. 3. Saints have ceased from sinning- 1Pet 4:1 4. Saints cannot live in sin - 1Jn 3:9; 5:18. It is mostly impossible for the child of the worlds richest man to survive in abject poverty. So is every saint. A saint cant survive in sin. When sin becomes a potential habitat for a saint, nothing more but extinction becomes inevitable. 5. Saints have resolved against sin - Job 34:32 6. Saints are ashamed of committing sin - Rom 6:21. Sometimes, our enemies, those in opposition would always seek for our fall(sinning)- Titus 2:8 7. Saints have yet the remains of sin in them - Rom 7:17, 23. As controversial as this may seem, it is the truth. A saint has his/her spirit purified with the blood of Christ. The body however must be subjected to daily check in order not to fall for the mountaining temptations of the world- 1Cor 9:27. Paul calls this your own salvation - Phil 2:12. IGNITION MEMORY VERSE FOR TODAY - Romans 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? **Bless someone with IGNITION** IGNITION... Passion 4 Mission
