SINGLE+ANALYSE (70-80%) SURE 21:00 Girona - Alaves 1 - TopicsExpress

SINGLE+ANALYSE (70-80%) SURE 21:00 Girona - Alaves 1 (2.10) After they failed to secure their place in La Liga last season, Girona kick off the new Segunda Division campaign with a home match against promoted Alaves side. Last season Girona were on the verge of securing their place in La Liga, but the team was eliminated by Almeria in the play-offs. Girona lost back to back matches to Almeria (0:1, 0:3), meaning that they will have to wait for yet another season to be promoted. Nonetheless, seeing that the club chiefs have made too many changes to the squad during the summer transfer window, it remains to be seen if they are capable of securing their place in the elite division. Over the summer Girona have signed the likes of Chando, Timor, Matamala, Ivan Lopez, Palatsi, Bordas, Carmona and Ramalho, while Martinez, Acuna, Benja, Txiki, Velez, Mallo and Luso all left the club. Ricardo Rodriguez has taken over the reigns by replacing Rubi at Gironaˈs bench and with the Catalans kicking off their Segunda Division campaign with a clash against Alaves, there is every chance the team will emerge triumphant. During the pre-season preparation Girona lost to Llagostera 1:0 and shared the spoils with Tarragona. Jandro, Ivan Lopez and Moises Hurtado both miss the clash through injuries. Chus Herrero and Jofre are both doubtful and will be assessed ahead of the clash. Probable starting line-up ( Becerra - Ramalho, Migue, Richy, David García - Juanlu, Matamala, David Timor, Jofre - Felipe y Chando. Fifteen years ago Deportivo Alavés returned to the top level after a 42-year absence, achieving two wins against FC Barcelona in the following season. The team then managed to qualify for the UEFA Cup, ending the season in sixth place in the standings. Nonetheless, Alaves were relegated to Segunda division in the 2002/2003 season and in the 2008/2009 the team dropped to Segunda B Division. Last season Deportivo Alaves did remarkably well to secure their place in Segunda Division, but it remains to be seen if the team will avoid the relegation this term. During the summer transfer window the club chiefs have signed the likes of Gotia, Medina, Velez, Mediavilla, Mauro Quiroga, Nano (Osasuna), Sanchez, Juanma (Villareal), Serrano (Levante), Ortiz and Pepe Mora, but several important players have also left the club. Last season Alaves have continued their habit of producing good displays on home soil, while struggling on the travels, therefore, I do not believe that Natxo Gonzalesˈ men are likely to get anything from this encounter. Manu García and Nano both miss the clash against Girona through injuries. Natxo Gonzales has no other injury worries ahead of the match. Probable starting line-up (4-4-2): Goitia - Valdor, Alex Ortiz, Einar, Medina - Beobide, Julen Lafuente, Tito, Borja Viguera - Juanma , Mauro Quiroga. Medium stake on home win
