SIRR Team Investigates Auto-Cyclist Collision Involving Spokane Valley Police Officer Last night, 5/23/14, just before 10:30 pm, a Spokane Valley Police Officer was responding to an emergency call for assistance. During that response, the Spokane Valley Police Officer was involved in an auto-cyclist collision at the intersection of Sprague and Vista. The cyclist was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Due to the life-threatening nature of the cyclist’s injuries, the Spokane Investigative Regional Response (SIRR) Team was called to investigate the incident. The scene has been processed by collision re-constructionists. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is asked to call Crime Check, at 456-2233. The Spokane Police Department is the managing agency in this incident. All future communications on this incident will be sent out via the SIRR Team. The next update will likely be released next week. The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office will release the name of the Spokane Valley Police Officer involved in this incident. · Once the SIRR Team investigation is complete the case will be forwarded to the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
