A volunteer writes: Sisis looks and story might break your heart, but her unassuming, gentle, sweet nature is more than enough to put it back together and warm it, too. She has spent the past four years of her life tied up in a kitchen, with minimal stimulation. When she arrived her nails were so long they hindered her step. She is definitely in need of some TLC - her eyes are far from clear, and shell probably need to wear a sweater this winter until her coat is restored, but still Sisi is so beautiful! The first time I took her out, Sisi was shy and likely a little confused, but still friendly. She is very easy to handle on leash and seems very housetrained. She loves treats and when I was rifling through my pocket to look for more, she began repeatedly offering me one of her paws. Now, Sisi comes to the front of her cage when she realizes Im in her room (she is always quietly curled up on her bed) and softly wags her tail. She soaks up affection - letting me help scratch her itches, propping her paws up on me, and smearing herself into my lap. Though her days at Brooklyn ACC are likely (and sadly) the best shes had in a long time, I hope Sisi will soon be in a home filled with creature comforts, love, and freedom to roam outside the kitchen!
