SITUATION UPDATE on Monday, July 15th 2013 The government has announced full budget for the fiscal year 2013-14 with a total figure of 517.24 billion rupees on Sunday. A meeting of the High Level Political Committee held on Saturday officially invited the CPN- Maoist and its allies parties for round table talk. However, the CPN-Maoist has hold strategic meeting of joint struggle team of 33-partry-alliance decided not to hold talk until the four major parties include all the agitating force in their top level mechanism. Three Madhesh based parties; Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party Nepal, Nepal Sadbhawana Party (NSP) and Rastriya Sadbhawana Party (RSP) hold unification meeting on Sunday and under discussion on a new party name, logo and election symbol. INFRASTRUCTURE OBSTRUCTIONS Ferry service has been halted at Arun River of Legwaghat of Dhankuta district and at Sunkohsi River in Ghurmi of Udayapur district due to the increase in water level after heavy rainfall. Karnali Highway; Rakam-Jumla and Salyan-Rukum sector road have been in poor condition for vehicular movement. Mathillo Dungeshwor- Tallo Dungeshwor road section in Dailekh district has been obstructed due to landslide. Dadeldhura-Darchula road obstructed along Pasti to Dhap and Dattu to Khalanga due to landslides and flood. Sanfebagar - Martadi road obstructed at Barju Khola of Bajura district due to flood. ONGOING and UPCOMING Araniko Struggle Committee has warned for Bhaktapur, Kavre and Sindhupalchowk districts bandh from 20th July onwards if the government does not provide compensation for demolishing houses during the road expansions. Janatantrik Madhesh Mukti Morcha (JTMM)-Rajan group has released press statement on 14th July saying all 7 Madhesi leaders; Upendra Yadav, Rajendra Mahato, Bijaya Gachhadar, Mahanta Thakur, Raj Kishowr Raya Yadav and Anil Jha are marked as opportunist leaders. They also announced the following protest program schedule against them: 21st July, programe for publicity; burning the Interim constitution; 25th July, physical action on the staff of various offices in Madhesh 2nd -3rd August, Torch rally with firing in the district headquarter of Terai districts 4th August, Madhesh Bandh ADVICE Please avoid vehicular movement on above mentioned roads
