Junior Prom photo PROM MEMORIES: today, im replacing OLDIES JUKEBOX and NEWS FLASHBACK selections with some JUNIOR PROM memories i vaguely recall, and others i dont recall at all or simply dont want to ... the prom was an exciting time --> wearing our daintiest picture-perfect prom dresses from teeze-me sleeveless to backless to strapless -- hurricane-proof bouffant hairdos -- tuxedo rentals and timeless prom suits youtube/watch?v=wYIIzEOI7Kg of white dinner jackets, with black pants, paired with black bow ties -- greased-up and slicked-down haircuts and crewcuts -- pretty, but prickly corsages -- being picked up in jalopies, borrowed family cars, or brand-new rides; no limos or party buses in our group -- girls (young women) escorted by steady boyfriends or nervous dates -- boys (young men) accompanied by their sweethearts or jittery guests -- pre-prom photos and gatherings -- sudden, surprising, unplanned events -- formal prom portraits -- cherry blossoms everywhere -- music under a pagoda-covered bandstand -- rustling of chiffon, satin, silk, and taps of dancing feet -- sweeth♥art couple -- stimulating post-prom events -- unforgettable latin casino entertainment that i dont remember -- high-spirited fun -- then home, exhausted ! skip forward 50+ years: what ive enjoyed most about this walk down memory lane is running into DENNY LEPOLD, DICK CROCKETT, JOANNE STOWE, JOE MCCARTHY, MARIA KENNEDY, MILLIE ADAMS, and RON MCCARTHY again --> reminisced with DENNY & JOANNE while in florida celebrating their wedding anniversary ... shared these prom keepsakes with DICK, his wife Cathy, and his son Rich ... re-connected with JOE, who is a successful artist in massachusettes ... in continual contact with my dear friend MARIA ... and re-located MILLIE in grandmomville, where shes cherishing every moment of grandmomhood with smiles in her heart !
