SMH at the #iftheygunnedmedown hashtag thats caught on just today. #iftheygunnedmedown , there was probably a good reason for why they (police) did it. Dont do anything criminal or just downright stupid to get gunned down, and you wont have to think about which picture theyll use in the media to bias the viewers. Also, why does it all seem to be black people? At the risk of dancing on the very fine line of racist and not racist, why is it ONLY when a black kid gets shot and/or killed that theres such an uproar? If a police officer shot down a white person, you wouldnt hear a peep. Youd probably hear that they had some some type of mental incapacitation, and something like oh, well thats too bad. Why is this SUCH a racial issue? If he was unarmed, he shouldnt have resisted (or whatever the true case may be) and worried about fighting it later, it being his charges or the PD/officers actions. #sorrynotsorry but I refuse to believe that the majority of police officers are power hungry killers the way that social media so often portrays them to be. As it is, social media sites combined with the ease of recording incidents via cell phone, Ipad-whatever-make it 100xs easier to throw out incidents that involve law enforcement in a negative light and lead us to believe that the majority of police are bad. Does that mean that we need to go on a witch hunt to portray EVERY department so negatively? No. It just means that we need to be much more vigilant in watching what we post and share so that things like this dont get SO blown out of proportion, and we dont have a few thousand asshats out looting the streets like its the 50s(?) again because they think something is a racial issue when its really just an unfortunate, isolated incident where a lot of people used a lot of piss poor judgement.
