SMOOTH SUSPENSION SUPER SERIES POINTS SYSTEM & SCRUTINEERING With the Smooth Suspension Super Series starting this Saturday night at Mid Western Speedway Darlington it is timely to publicly announce the points system being used & to announce a couple more drivers committed to competing. During heats in which drivers have a rear, middle and front if the field start points will be the SSA defined point structure in order to determine the drivers qualifying position for the feature race with top qualifier to pole position. These points will count towards the series. Then to reward drivers that win the points on the final are doubled for first so for example the winner collects 72 more points, second 56 points, third 46 points, fourth 36 & fifth 30. Every driver that qualifies for final & finishes outside top five earn 25 points & every car that starts the B Main & doesnt transfer to the main event collects 20 points that then are added to the heat points to give their overall round total. The promoter Dean Thompson explains. What we have come up with is a structure that rewards wins & consistent top five finishers whilst making sure everybody else scores well trying to keep things tight in the middle sector of the field battling for contingency prizes the guys at the front cant win. We hope this encourages a race within a race. Another point to make is in regards to scrutineering which the scrutineers at the club will be in charge of. The scrutineers will be enforcing spot checks after heats where the winner of the heat & a random finisher must head to the scrutineers who will check one particular item of interest to them. At the end of the final the top three cars report to the scrutineers for a quick check of a random item. Rather than be a hindrance, the checks ensure legitimacy & integrity of the series. Along with the news on the points structure the series is pleased to announce Andrew Ratten from the Alexandra Club and Batman Dale Blomeley have committed to competing. Both the lads are exciting behind the wheel and are sure to mix it up with the front runners consistently. Official nomination confirmations now are: 1) Ricky Throckmorton 2 Ric Swasbrick 3) Brad McClure 4) Jamie Lock 5) John Roycroft 5) Scott Bull 7) Darren Giacometti 8) Mick Dann 9) Nathan Dunn 10) Rikki Stewart 11) Morris Ahearn 12) Scott Mason 13) Jason Duell 14) Phil Pottage 15) Anthony Beare 16) Steven Watts 17) Darren Matthews 18) Stuart Robinson 19) Robbie Faux 20) Mick Clark 21) Daniel Drewett 22) Emma Bansemer 23) Shaun Henry 24) Darren Paisley 25) Daryl Atkinson 26) Lloyd Wallace 27) Daniel Brittain 28) Andrew Rattan 29) Dale Blomeley If you have not yet advised the promoter of your commitment to the series, it would be appreciated if you do so knowing that financial payment is not required until you compete at your first round.
