SNOWFALL UPDATE (For Monday Jan 16 - Tue Jan 27) This is definitely going to be a historic storm...there will be areas that approach 3 feet of snow - most likely eastern areas than western areas. Make those preparations now! I have heard and seen that most grocery stores have been packed all day. This storm is expected to bring up to 2 feet of snow across NYC, the Hudson Valley, Connecticut, Long Island, and parts of NE NJ. We are looking at strong winds, some can be gusting up to 60mph at times. Visibility will be low during the snowfall too. There is even a chance for thundersnow during the heaviest snowfall. Expect the heaviest snow overnight into Tuesday midday. Be prepared to see large snow drifts, too. Currently a Blizzard Warning is in effect for the tri-state area. Snow will fall at rates of 2 to 4 inches an hour overnight. Whiteout conditions will create extremely dangerous and life threatening travel. Pack the cars if you MUST go out.... -Blankets -Water -Emergency Snacks (Cereal Bars/Protein) -Flashlight -Cell Phone Charger & Adapter -Full Tank of Gasoline -Snow Brush, Ice Scraper, & Shovel If you do not have to go out - stay at home, make French Toast (with those bread, milk, and eggs), play in the snow, and watch News 12 Connecticut.
