“SO COME TO THE LORD TODAY KNOWING, IT IS NOT TOO LATE—IT’S HIS IDEA FOR YOU TO BE SAVED! REPENT OF YOUR SIN. SURRENDER YOUR ALL TO HIS OUTRAGEOUS LOVE. ASK TO RECEIVE A FULL OIL LAMP TO BE READY AND SEE TRUTH. YOUR SALVATION CAN BE SURE—EVEN TODAY!” Thank you Jesus Christ for your Grace and The Cross. What must I do to be Saved? Recognize that you need The Lord, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit. The greatest question in the Bible is How do you find Christ? The first step in finding Christ is to recognize that you need him, that you are a sinner, that you have violated the principles of truth in the word of God. The Bible say’s in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”. I have sinned and you have sinned, and because we have sinned we must have the blood of Jesus Christ cleanse us from all sin. Our morality cannot save us, our goodness cannot save us, and our acts of kindness cannot save us. Repent and Confess your sin and let the Holy Spirit give you a change of heart. Yes you need to confess your sins daily, truly repent, and ask The Lord to change your heart. The Bible says in 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Now you might be thinking that you are not good enough. I want you to know that God can save to uppermost. It does not matter what you have done, he can save you. God loves us even though we are sinners. The Bible says in Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God has made it possible through the gift of his son for you to be saved. That provision is God’s gift. The Bible says in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” For it is by Grace that you have been saved through Faith. It is not of yourself, it is the gift of God that you have been saved, not by works so that no one can boast. So you see, you cannot get to Heaven by being good or by doing his works or acts of kindness. You only get to Heaven because you have confessed your sins. There must be the repentance of sin which means you must turn away from your sins. The Bible says in Mark 1:15 “the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Repent means to turn away, walk and go another way. The Gospel - The life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That if you confess with your mouth to our Lord Jesus and if you believe in your heart, that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and with your mouth that you confess your sin and are saved. The result is eternal salvation, for the Bible says in Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The Bible says that salvation is found in no other name given among men under Heaven, other than the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. So if you want to find Christ all you have to do is pray this prayer. But the words themselves will not save you. Only faith in Jesus Christ can provide salvation! Important understanding between repentance and asking The Lord to change your heart. Both are important! I ask that you please read the following with patience and compassion, as what Im about to share came out of many years of suffering because of a lack of my own understanding on the subject. Repentance means a change of heart. It does not mean a turning away from sin, as many people believe. Sin can only be fully turned away from if the heart has fully changed. This is the true definition of repentance. People cannot fully walk away from their sins unless they have a full change of heart. This is an important distinction to make, because often people try to change their sins or their lifestyle without allowing Jesus to change their heart, and this leads to un-needed bondage and frustration and condemnation. Sometimes the change of heart happens slowly in a person, and there are times that a persons heart does not change all at once, even when they have accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, so that they cannot yet fully turn away from all sin. This can be evidenced by the Apostle Paul praying in Eph. 1 and 3 for people who were already believers that their hearts would open more and more to God to be changed by His love more and more. He implies in his apostolic prayer in Eph. 3 that not all have yet fully understood the love of Christ to its deepest depths. If this is true, which it is, those who have not yet fully understood have not yet been fully changed in their heart and fully set free from all bondage to sin, because only when a person is filled to the fullness of God do they lack any sin in their heart, because only in the fullness of God is there no evil. There is no one righteous, no not one. - Romans 3 Why do you call me good? God alone is good. - Jesus in the Gospels. God is the only one perfectly sinless, so unless you have already been fully filled with God in your heart to His very depths, there will be some area of sin that the Christian or sinner has not yet been freed from. I went through many years of un-needed condemnation and bondage to focusing on my own sin instead of the Lord, because I did not understand that being set free from sin is a process that Jesus continues to work in my life on a daily basis by His grace and love and truth and power alone. I struggled for years to try and leave all sin for good and suffered deep anguish and trials because I was wrongly taught that the only definition of real repentance is to leave all sin at once and never commit any sin again. I wish to save others from this by helping them to understand that Jesus alone will save them, and not their own perfection or even their own repentance. It is Jesus alone that they must look to to change their heart. People must look to Jesus Christ alone to save them from all sin, and not even their own repentance will save them, because it is not their repentance that will save them, but Jesus alone who can save them and change their heart to the uttermost. If they come to understand Jesus wholeheartedly and become engulfed in His flame of love, He will give them full repentance in the heart. It is His gift to them, and they can only receive it by their trust in Him alone. Not by works, that no one should boast. Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. Acts 5:31 They can no more turn away from all their sins then a blind, deaf and amputated man with no legs or arms imprisoned in an underground prison can set himself free by his own effort. It must be Jesus work alone that saves you, and its very important for you to understand that, so you can concentrate all your heart on learning to trust in Jesus Christ and His saving grace and love alone, and not on trying to stop sinning so that God will accept you. It will also help keep you from pride and self-righteousness once you are saved by Gods grace alone and only through learning to trust Christ fully. You will know that you have nothing to boast about, because you did not do a thing but allow Jesus Christ to save you to the uttermost. You will not boast in your own holiness that, you have turned from all your sin, and now you must do so too. Instead, you will be filled with deep compassion, patience, humility and love for anyone else stuck in bondage to sin. The whole focus must be on Jesus and His all powerful consuming love for the sinner that alone can save you, or the sinner will have to fight horrible dark feelings, condemnation, shame and guilt that He is condemned forever and without hope or light, because naturally as a sinner he does not know how to stop being a slave to sin. It is very important, because some have been known to commit suicide because of such feelings of guilt and condemnation. It is a lie that the enemy uses to kill, steal, and destroy that can only be remedied by preaching Jesus Christ alone to save the sinner to the uttermost. Only Jesus Christ can free the sinner from His chains of sin, so the sinner must be encouraged to look to the person of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice as the only sufficient answer. They must learn to trust Christ alone in their heart, which is the only method that will produce full repentance that will lead to a life free from all sin. Again, Jesus Christ must change their heart, so they must learn to trust Him alone to do the work in their heart and submit to His grace to set them free of what they cannot set themselves free of, therefore He must be preached as the only answer. If He is preached as He really is, they will be able to trust Him to completely change their heart and therefore their lifestyle will change, because all the issues of life (lifestyle) flow from the heart. This learning to trust Christ fully in order to produce a heart change that will enable them to fully walk away from all sin may take time, which is okay, and the sinner converted to saint must be encouraged to keep looking to Christ and learning to trust Him more and more, not made to feel as if they have not done their duty because they are not yet fully free of every bondage. Christ will fully set them free as He has promised to do, And the very God of peace [WILL sanctify you] (this is an unconditional promise in the Greek text) wholly; your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thess. 5:23 A Prayer to Eternal Salvation Lord Jesus Christ, I confess that I’m a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and to cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I believe that Your Son Jesus died in my place, to pay the penalty for my sin, and rose again for my salvation. I want to turn from my sinful ways, so I now ask you, Lord Jesus, to come into my life as my Savior and my Lord. I will serve you and obey you. I will read your word and I will follow Christ from this day forward all the days of my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen. Now with your faith in Jesus Christ you have stepped from darkness into the light. The difficulties of living as a Christian in a sinful world are many. Therefore it is important that you seek other Christians to help you sustain your resolve.
