SO HOW WAS YOUR SUNDAY MORNING...? PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO BEFORE READING!!! My latest update to all of our DIRECTORS CUT contributors. https://youtube/watch?v=nMOyhUePJgk An interesting way to start the day... Have you ever had an earworm? Yknow, when you get a song stuck in your head and it just plays over and over and over? And usually its a song you cant stand. Well, for the last three days, the song “Smile Darn Ya Smile has been stuck in my head and it wont quit. I actually quite like the song, but it just keeps playing on continuous loop. Im not sure why. Maybe I fell asleep while the TV was on Cartoon Network and an old Max Fleischer seeped into my subconscious. Or maybe I happened to catch a little of Roger Rabbit last time I visited my niece and nephews. No matter... Seeing as youve already watched videos, you are aware of the scary naked homeless man who broke into my house this morning. In trying to paint a clear picture for you of the entire scene as it unfolded, I think it bears mentioning that the whole harrowing experience was scored in my head with that damn song!. Apparently a massive adrenaline surge is no cure for an earworm. Yes I was terrified, but that jumpy, jazzy cartoonish old song played as the soundtrack throughout and gave the entire scenario a decidedly surreal bend. Ive included a link to the song to help you get in the mood: https://youtube/watch?v=R78jw_Sk7hs Song aside, I have to take a moment and commend the LAPD for their exceptional work. They responded immediately, they were calming and professional and were equally concerned about the safely of the perp as they were for me. And once it was apparent that he wasn’t a threat and that he was mentally ill, they were quite compassionate in how they dealt with him. Anyway, after he was led away in a squad car I subsequently found out that my unexpected guest made himself right at home in my place. He took a shower in my guest bathroom, he clipped his fingernails and toenails and left them for me on my dining room table, he tried on my Chuck Taylors, and he took a nap in my guestroom. I suppose the most terrifying part of the whole story for me is my not knowing how long he was here before I realized it. As far as I know it couldve been hours. He was just calmly cohabiting with me while I was obliviously readying myself for the day in my bedroom. Imagining it in movie terms, I wonder how many times our paths almost crossed throughout the morning, each near miss giving the audience a gasp. Very Hitchcockian if I do say so myself. Well, scary as it was, it could’ve been way worse. Another Hollywood ending! Ok, back to work on DIRECTOR’S CUT!
