SO YOU FORGOT GODS PROMISES: Sometimes our hectic pace we live we forget what GOD has for us. We get in such a hurry and try to make it on our own and we end up birthing a whole set of problems. Go back to Abraham and Sarah, GOD promised them they would have a son even though Sarah was barren. They took things into their own hands. Abraham took a second wife and along came Ishmael. A simple solution to fulfill GODS promise they thought, but it was totally out of GODS will. It was not till fourteen years later that GOD fulfilled his promise to Abraham and Sarah in Isaac. The lives of Abraham and Sarah demonstrate what happens when we fail to rely on GODS promises to us. 1. WE TRY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN: What Sarah thought was helping has created a feud in the Middle East to this day between the seed of Ishmael and the seed of Isaac. Only GODS promises are fulfilled in the flow of GODS timing. 2. WE BIRTH SOMETHING IN THE FLESH: Isaac was a child of the Spirit, and Ishmael was a child of the flesh. When we step out of GODS will, we birth things in our flesh. WHAT IS BIRTHED IN FLESH MUST BE MAINTAINED IN FLESH! 3. WHAT WE BIRTH BECOMES A THORN TO THE BLESSING: Ishmael would mock Isaac, he was a thorn in the sides of Sarah and Isaac. Sarah demanded separation between the two. The flesh needed to be severed from the Spirit. Our flesh is carnal in nature. When we lose our tempers or become jealous of someone or are unforgiving, we are operating in a fleshly manner. We need to put our focus entirely on GOD remembering that his word is: PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, THAT THE MAN OF god may be complete, and thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. We all have to get into the habit of giving it all to GOD. Letting GOD captain your ship!!!
