SO many people use the excuse that they dont eat healthy food because they dont have time, and this makes my blood boil...This belief is absolutely UNTRUE, and eating this way has created an epidemic of obesity and illness. Many people are in their current state because they chose to adopt this mentality, and are suffering the extreme consequences. Did you know that in under 30 minutes, you can prepare food that will last you for the whole week. This is less time than it takes to wait for a pizza to be delivered, or the amount of time that you would spend each week waiting in line either at the drive-through or in a fast food restaurant. Furthermore, it takes no more time to eat a piece of fruit and nuts (or one of my healthy and delicious balls ;)) than it does a candy bar or bag of chips. As for meals, a BBQ organic chicken and pre-washed and packaged greens takes less than 3 minutes to make, as does a pre-made healthy salad from the deli, or brown rice sushi or sashimi. These are just a few of many healthy and convenient options. I recently discovered that Loblaws in North Van makes many healthy and delicious salads to-go. I got an orange beet, and chick pea and artichoke salad, and both were delicious and very reasonably priced. If you arent willing to spend a few minutes preparing food or making healthy choices so you can be healthy, and instead CHOOSE to eat unhealthy foods and in abundance, prepare yourself for a life of illness, lethargy, and unhappiness. Seems like a no-brainer to me, AND it doesnt take more time. You probably wouldnt treat your car so poorly, so why abuse your body by feeding it poison? I am a huge believer in choosing healthy foods 80-90% of the time, but these foods can be delicious and convenient so you dont feel like you are depriving yourself. I always allow myself treats. While personally, fast food absolutely disgusts me, I do not tell anyone not to have it, but do so in moderation. Food can either serve as the wonder-drug that will keep you healthy and vibrant, or it can poison your body and cause you to actually need medication. Choose wisely...
