SOME DOs & DONTs FOR TOMORROW Meeting tomorrow (Sunday 25th Jan) at The roundabout opposite Fonthill Train Station (google it and youll find it straight away) at 2pm. Our volunteers will be wearing bright orange hi vis vests, you wont miss us. We will have at least 4 large bales of hay on site that we need help distributing far into the fields. We need safety in numbers. *** On further investigation of the condition of these horses we highly advise NO carrots/potatoes/other food - hay only, as they cant cope with rich food at the moment, it will give them colic. *** If you cant make it but want to help, you can donate towards hay, wormer etc here mylovelyhorserescue/donate.html DO - Wear wellies and warm clothes, gloves - Bring a black bag (we will give you hay to distribute), if youve no bags dont worry, we have bags - help us pick out the wires in the field that could entangle horses - Stay with a group of people, preferably with someone with horsey experience-we will direct you - Listen to our advice on the day DONT - Dont try to pet the horses or feed them by hand - some could be semi wild - Never stand at the back of a horse - horses can kick and bite - they can be dangerous - Dont bring children - Dont bring dogs - groups of dogs could scare horses - No Potatoes - unfortunately, No carrots, apples - remember, these horses are starving and may not be able to handle rich food yet - they could get colic, which is nasty, you could donate money for hay instead - Dont get lost, stay with the group - mind where you walk Remember, these horses are starving so may run towards the food, stay with your group at all times and dont panic if they do, stay calm. We have 2 voluntary surrenders from the field from their owner and will need to try to catch them so we may ask people to keep their distance for that. Thank you for an unbelievable response and see you tomorrow! Youre great!
