SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES / EVENTS CARRIED OUT BY THE JKPF, ARE SUMMARISED AS BELOW:- In 2004, a big Amam Mella was celebrated in jallandhar attended by prominent peace activists of India and Pakistan. During July 2008, peace conference was held at Blockhead Quarter Gulab Ghar Padder, when the land was engulfed with the flames of communalism due to ongoing row over Shri Amernath land, and free blankets were distributed amongst widows, destitute and poor women. The conference was organised by Shri Ram Singh Chauhan Gen. Secy. JKPF and was attended by several prudent citizens of the area. In collaboration with Bharat Bangladesh Pakistan People’s Forum, held several meetings with all sections of society, under extreme hostile conditions including curfew restrictions, during august 2009 and succeeded in normalising the situation to great extent. On 30th. January 2010 peace conference was held in Abhinav Theatre Jammu where Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Hon’ble Union Minister was Chief Guest. On 20th. Feb. 2010, free medical camp was organised at Badheri Samba Were Hon’ble M.L.A Shri Yashpaul Kundal was Chief Guest. On 10th. March 2010, free medical camp and a peace conference was held at Ramban. On 21/11/2010 peace, prominent citizens / youth leaders of four districts of south Kashmir held conference at Dak Banglow Khannabal Anantnag Kashmir, which was attended. A prominent Islamic Scholar Moulana Junaid Hashim, Member “Rabita Alam-E- Islam” delivered effective speech on world peace, which laid great impact on the minds of the youth towards normalisation of the situation. Again, during November 2010 said Islamic scholar on the persuasion of JKPF, delivered several peace speeches in District Anantnag, which were aired in different Masjids in Srinagar and other parts of the valley, which helped a lot in changing the hearts of the youths. On 28th. January 2011, a gala peace conference was held at Abhinov Theatre Jammu in which Esteemed Shri N.N. Vohra H.E. The Governor, Chief Patron JKPF was the chief guest and which was attended by several thinkers, scholars, peace activists, legislators and ministers. On 16th & 17th May 2011, two day’s peace conference was held at SKICC, Chasma Shahi Srinagar. HE the Governor, Esteemed N.N Vohra –chief patron JKPF, was the chief Guest and was attended by several dignitaries , social and religious personalities and peace activists drawn from 21 states of the country as also Jenab Dr. Ahmad Salim Al Wahishi his Excellency Ambassador of Arab League and prominent personality from Bangladesh. JKPF has organised its 37th. One-day peace conference on 31st. May 2011 at Lathi District Udhampur, Jammu in which hundreds local delegates/ prudent citizens participated and were given awareness about importance of peace and perils of discontentment in the society. On 16th June 2011, a peace conference was held at Ruzloo Kund Anantnag Kashmir, which was attended by the peace activists drawn from more than one and half dozen villages of the vicinity. Shri Shafqat Ali Watalli, DIG, Anantnag was the chief Guest. On 13th. October 2011, a notable and gala peace conference, for the first time in Kashmir since the outbreak of militancy in the valley, was held at Dak- Banglow Khannabal in South Kashmir. The peace conference was held under the chief patronage of HE the Governor esteemed N. N. Vohra and was attended by several dignitaries like Jenab Gh. Hassan Mir Hon’ble Minister, Mtr. Sakina Itoo Hon’ble Minister, Jenab Mehboob Beigh Hon’ble M.P., Jenab Gh. Nabi Rattanpuri Hon’ble M.P., Jenab Syed Atta Hassnen Commander 15th. Core, GOC Victor Force, Ex. M.P’s Sheikh Ab. Rehman And Ab. Rashid Kabuli, Moulana Gh. Mohammad Sheikh President Anwarul Islam, Director Information Jenab Farooq Ahmad Rinzoo, Representatives of Islamic, Kashmir And Agriculture University, Kifayat Hussain Rizvi District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Jenab Shafkat Ali Watali DIG South Kashmir, All Ssp’s Of South Kashmir, Jenab Zafar Manhas Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture And Language, Principal Moulana Azad University Kashmir. Besides several dignitaries, prudent citizens and delegates participated with great zeal, zest and fervour participated. The unction was presided by prof. Ab. Wahid Vice- Chancellor Central University Kashmir. The function paved historical way in spreading the message of peace and containing anti- social and anti- national activities across the valley to great extent. Besides, above several peace conferences on village, panchayat, block and district quarters were held throughout the state aiming peace, prosperity, brotherhood and communal harmony. On 28th. January, 2012, again a remarkable peace conference was held at abihinov theatre Jammu which was presided over by Padamvibhushan- Shri Balrajpuri, under the patronage of Chief Guest – Esteemed Shri N.N. Vohra, HE the governor and was attended by Hon’ble Ministers Namely, Jenab Ali Mohammad Sagar, Gh. Hassan Mir, Honb’le MP’s, Legislators, Smt. Mamta Sharma Hon’ble Chairperson National Commission for Women GOI. Director General of Police Shri. Kuldeep Khudda (I.P.S.). Besides several heads of social, religious and youth organisation. On 29th of May 2012 Delegate Convention was organised at Raj Bhawan Jammu Delegates from all the three regions of the state attended the conference. Shri N. N Vohra HEG & Chief Patron JKPF addressed the convention and directed to the delegates to perform their duties for restoration of peace and aware the people of the state and for merits of peace and demerits of violence. On 7th of July 2012 on the first death Anniversary of former President Ulmah forum JKPF and Mir Waiz/Mufti South Kashmir Qazi Aman. JKPF organised Ulmah conference at S P College Srinagar which was presided by Aaga Abul Hussan Al – Mousvi – Al Safvi Ameer Almi Majlis Takreeb Mazhabi Islami Iran Observer for J & K State and the chief guest was Jenab Syed Abdul Lateef Bukhari Mir Waiz Central Kashmir and President Meli Ithad Forum Jammu Kashmir. On the occasion Chair Man JKPF Fayaz Ahmad Bhat nominated Sayed Abdul Lateef Bukhari Mir Waiz central Kashmir the President of JKPF Ulmah Forum and Aaga Abul Hussan Al – Mousvi – Al Safvi Ameer Almi Majlis Islami Iran the General Secretary of the JKPF Ulmah Forum. Sayed Abdul Lateef Bukhari President JKPF Ulmah Forum was awarded by Qazi Aman Peace Award. Srinagar,October-9 N. N. Vohra, Governor, today stressed the high importance of enlarging awareness among the students of Jammu and Kashmir about the Special Scholarship Scheme launched by the Central Government to enable them to pursue higher studies and various professional courses outside the State so that a maximum number of them could benefit from this valuable scheme.The Governor, as Chief Guest, was addressing before flagging-off a group of 700 students from Jammu and Kashmir who have been selected for pursuing various professional courses in different institutions in the country under the Special Scholarship Scheme of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, at a function organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Peace Foundation, at SKICC. Srinagar, November 21 (Scoop News) –Mufti Azam, Mufti Bashir-ud-Dn today said that Kashmir is the Valley of saints peers and awalia kirams who have always taught the lesson of tolerance, brotherhood and amity. Mufti Azam was presiding over an impressive function organized by Peace Foundation at SKICC here today in connection with distribution of Sewing Machines and relief among widows, orphans and destitutes of the Valley. The Governor, as Chief Guest, was addressing the 45th Peace Conference organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Peace Foundation (JKPF) at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, here today.Referring to the unfortunate situation that obtained in the State in the past years, the Governor observed that we have suffered great human and economic losses alongside an irreparable loss to the education and careers of the youth. He added that having passed through a very difficult time our people now seek and pray for peace and normalcy. He observed that our youth have since come up in a big way and many of them are pursuing their education in reputed technical and professional institutions across the country and competing successfully for various career options. He emphasized the need for enabling the youth to pursue their education, improve their skills and secure gainful employment to secure bright and better careers. In this context, he referred to the Special Scholarship Scheme launched by the Central Government to enable the youth of J&K to pursue higher studies and various professional courses outside the State and the other skill upgradation schemes which are also available, adding that a maximum possible number of them should benefit from these opportunities.The Governor said that the spurt of development and economic activity, particularly during the past two years, has clearly demonstrated that progress can be achieved only when normalcy prevails. He observed that the stable environment during the past two years has put the State on the path of progress and expressed sincere hope that, God willing, we would succeed in our endeavours and Jammu and Kashmir will emerge as the leading State in the country. Referring to his interactions with the Chairman and office bearers of the J&K Peace Foundation during the past about four years, the Governor complimented Mr. Fayaz Ahmed Bhat, Chairman of the Foundation, members of his team and all the associated activists for taking the highly laudable initiative of organizing various functions for promoting communal harmony, peace and amity and wished them high success in their continuing endeavours. Leh: In a press conference held at Sheynam Yokma’s community hall on 18 April, J&K Peace Foundation announces PM’s special scholarship schemes for Jammu and Kashmir students for the year 2013-14. In total there are 5,000 scholarships allocated for the Jammu and Kashmir State. All the 12th passed students can apply for the scholarship, a student must have secured 50% in the +2 board exam and family’s annual income is below Rs.4.5 lakh.
