SOME SAD NEWS FROM JASON AND BETSY: There is no “easy” way to announce or share this and there was discussion about the whole public forum of this, but we realized there is no other way to avoid explaining over and over. We have decided that we are no longer going to remain married. Everything will be finalized at the end of October. WHAT HAPPENED? Many will ask and have. It’s simple. We are and will always be good friends. A good friendship is a must in a marriage, but a good friendship does not mean compatibility. We deeply love and respect one another, yet have vastly different goals and desires and these all should have been explored more deeply before we married. We rushed the process and we both need to get back to the plans God has individually called us to. While many of you will have strong opinions, we want to say a few things. First, we have seen counselors and have had wisdom spoken to us by those invested and we are very much at peace with this decision, a decision that is final. Second, it is both of our hearts that all of our friends continue to love us both. We are in agreement on literally everything and truly want to spend this next 90 days grieving this relationship together and “ending well.” There is no “bad guy/girl” here, and we actually will be hurt if anyone one takes sides or ostracizes for any reason. Jason really wants to keep the house here in Fort Collins, and Betsy is just fine with that. (Hates yard work) We will share the home through the process, but Betsy may be relocating to Littleton at some point and is open to housing/ steady income (photography and otherwise) suggestions in that area.
