SOMETHING GREATER Jesus looked at him and said, You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas (which , when translated is Peter). John 1 :42 WHEN FIRST CALLED BY JESUS Simon was presumptuous , opinionated, hot headed , and self centered----not to mention he sometimes used profane language. Why did God choose him? Because God looks at the heart.Man looks on the outside, but God looks deep down into a person and sees what a person can become. In changing his name to Peter,Jesus meant, When I get through with you, youre going to be something much greater. In the same way,God has put more in you than you can imagine. You have gifts and talents that nobody else has.God has planted seeds of greatness in you. Why dont you quit looking at what you cant do and start looking at what God can do?
