SOOO..I had just gotten done steaming my floors in the living room and the kitchen. For those of you who do not know…I have very dark floors in the living room (which shows everything) and very light floors in the kitchen (which shows everything). I was able to take a much needed relaxing shower…and get into my comfy pajamas…and sit in the chaise in our bedroom. AHHHHH feels so nice to relax…All of the sudden I hear “MAMA Come Here”! I rush into the kitchen to where the “MAMA” sound came from. Well, there is my son…all I see blood spurting everywhere. …Of course my 21 year old son is holding his finger and I automatically think “He cut his finger off”…Let’s back up for a minute. 9 times out of 10 when I open a can of anything, I bend the top down into the can and squeeze the can so the top can’t stick out….Well, I didn’t tonight because who in this house digs in the garbage can anyway? (enter Jordan)…He was pilfering through the garbage can for something he thought I had tossed (BTW, he didn’t ask me for it) and sliced the side of his finger pretty bad. It was not deep enough for stitches . Just one of those slices that will hurt for the next week…and get pulled on everything he touches once it starts to heal. Anyway, I don’t know why but I don’t keep band aids on hand. I haven’t since way back when I had to purchase the “Barney” kind…SO…Needless to say I was on a mission to find something to fashion as a band aid..Keep in mind that my son’s finger is just dripping blood all over the place..On my newly cleaned floors..We ended up wrapping it in a paper towel and duct tape…as a temporary solution until I could find medical tape and cotton…I finally found three band aids to wrap around his finger. Ya’ll don’t know how relieved I am that it was not cut off (whew)…Guess what…I get to steam the floors again tonight …
