SOPHIE update Sophie was found on the 23rd June 2014 with a very infected tail. Maggots were coming out of the wound and the next day her tail was half amputated. We’ve done everything to save her little tail but from the beginning it was obvious that it would be better to amputate her whole tail when she would be a bit older because it would always remain very sensitive and most probably hair would never grow again. We tried to postpone the operation until she would be at least 3 months old (our biggest fear was that she wouldn’t come out of the anaesthetics) but on Friday 8th August her tail became necrotic (black) all of a sudden and needed to be amputated immediately. She’s only 2.5 months old so it was a nightmare but she’s doing very well and last Saturday the stitches were removed. Thank you dr George of Centru San Frangisk! You did a VERY good job and we are very grateful that you saved our little precious baby!
