#SOSAD Dear FOWODE Alumni, On a rather sad note,FOWODE Young leaders Alumni Association (FYLAA) has just learnt of the untimely death of our dear colleague Alex Hashakimana (RIP) a FYLAA Executive committee member who could have passed on a week ago without our notice. We were with Alex barely a week ago when we were formulating the FYLAA strategic plan for the year 2015/2018. Circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown to us although some sources suggest that he was shot by armed robbers last week. However, we are doing anything possible to establish to cause of his untimely death as well get in touch with family. Anyone with information that can lead us to his family in Entebbe, please share with us. Alex held a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management from Kampala International University. He had Specialities in Sustainable Agriculture and Natural resource use and Management, Entrepreneurship and farm enterprise development, organizational development, livelihood and food security, Gender and HIV, sustainable energy, alternative and transformative leadership. He has been working with world Vision Uganda in western Uganda and before that; Alex worked with SCC-Vi Agro-forestry, a Swedish International NGO as a Field Officer and Sustainable Energy Focal Person. As an Association, we have lost an incredible young, energetic, and passionate leader who has been at forefront of promoting pro poor values, Gender equality and social justice in Uganda. Alex has also been the brain behind the FYLAA saving scheme as a means to boost economic livelihoods of Fowode Young Leaders Alumni Association (FYLAA) He shall be forever missed, may his soul RIP
