SP Setia’s CSR programme includes crime watch in housing estates Jun 09, 2013 Property developer, SP Setia Berhad has engaged 120 auxiliary policemen to be stationed at its housing projects in Klang Valley, Johor Baharu and Penang in enhancing security in the areas. President and Chief Executive Officer of SP Setia Berhad, Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, said the corporate social responsibility project is aimed at building a sustainable community and ensuring a crime-free living environment within the housing estate. “The establishment of this auxiliary police team will ensure a safe living environment for the residents besides helping them to improve their living standard,” he told reporters after attending the ‘majlis pentauliahan polis bantuan SP Setia’ officiated by SP Setia Berhad chairman Tun Zaki Tun Azmi at Setia City Convention Centre, here on 7 June. Liew said SP Setia was looking into the possibility of engaging up to 500 auxiliary policemen in the near future to beef up security in its housing estates. Meanwhile, Zaki said SP Setia would provide in-house training for the auxiliary policemen to ensure their assimilation process went on smoothly. He also said the auxiliary policemen, who underwent three months of training at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol), would enjoy the perks and benefits of SP Setia staff. - BERNAMA
