SPEAKER JAWARI IS QUITELTY LEADING THE COUNTRY ABOVE THE POLITICAL DIVIDE: Ever since he was elected as the Speaker of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Osman Jawari has shown a sheer determination and courage to move the country ahead. Despite the enormous undertakings including leadership challenges and security complications, he never relinquished his will to create concessions among the parliamentarians and the governing leadership. Hon. Jawari was an instrumental in defusing tensions between the president and the former prime minster enacting smooth transition of power. He has enabled members of the Somali parliament to put their differences aside and attend to the interest of the country before their own. Moreover, he was the first Somali official to condemn Kenya’s intolerable act of brutally unleashing its police forces to subjugate innocent civilians who were under their care. The pictures of women and children shoved to military trucks and placed them in thousands in small cells were deeply troubling and it was refreshing to see speaker Jawari’s patriotism for standing up when it really matter. He has earned the trust of the entire Somali people from all regions and walks of life. Therefore, we in the Somali Diaspora appreciate and pay tribute to Hon. Jawari for articulating a compelling vision and mission based on goodwill and love for the country.
