Deep Cleaning Your Microfiber If you have purchased any Norwex - TopicsExpress

Deep Cleaning Your Microfiber If you have purchased any Norwex microfiber cloths (and have actually cleaned with them!) you are already aware of their incredible ability to clean practically any surface and leave it dirt, debris and bacteria free. With regular care of your cloths their amazing cleaning power should last for years. After use, always rinse them very well and hang dry. Don’t crumple them up until they are completely dry! The silver antibac in them needs time to work to self-sanitize the cloth. After a few uses, regular laundering with filler free, fragrance free detergent (no bleach or fabric softener – this includes those highly toxic dryer sheets!) should usually do the trick at cleaning them. However, if you use them with regularity (if you have them you probably use them for everything now!) or you have cleaned something particularly dirty or gross, you may need to deep clean your cloths. The cloths trap dirt SO well sometimes that even regularly laundering them doesn’t allow them to completely release the dirt. Here are step by step instructions on cleaning your cloths: 1) Gather up all of your cloths that need deep cleaned. 2) Clean out your kitchen sink with a cloth you plan on deep cleaning also then rinse sink out. 3) Boil an entire stock pot of water. Be careful while boiling water! We don’t need any accidents. 4) Plug the sink. 5) Put some of your filler free, fragrance free laundry detergent in the sink. I recommend Norwex Ultra Power Plus Laundry Detergent (UPP for short). It really is designed to clean these cloths! It will not leave any residue in the cloth that may actually reduce the cloth’s cleaning power. I would use maybe 2 scoops of UPP – more than you would use in a regular load of laundry. 6) Pour the whole pot of boiling water into the sink (carefully!!!!! Remember – no burning yourself (or anyone else!) or spilling water!) 7) Agitate the water and UPP mixture so all the detergent is dissolved. 8) Add your microfiber cloths that you need deep cleaned. 9) Wait about 2 minutes to see the gross, disgusting, brown or black water that appears. Know what that is? That’s all the dirt that you have been cleaning!!! The microfiber is amazing at trapping dirt and holding it there. If this doesn’t prove it to you, nothing will! 10) Agitate the cloths every so often. Soak for at least 30 minutes but can soak overnight if you need to. 11) Take cloths out, drain sink and RINSE THE CLOTHS WELL. There will be a lot of laundry soap still in the cloths and you need to really rinse that out. 12) Launder like normal. Hang dry or dry in dryer without any fabric softener. Your cloths should be super cleaned and ready to tackle your next cleaning job! Remember – you ARE using these cloths to clean so you may end up with stains in the cloth despite the occasional deep cleaning. No worries, they should work just fine!
