SPOILER ALERT: Channel Tens The Bachelor of course ends with a wedding. Not so much a wedding as a giant live televised testament to love itself. All the past contestants are in attendance. They are not jealous. They simply look upon the chosen one of their number and her new husband, marveling at the wonder that is true love being born before their eyes (as are we all at home.) She says I do, a single tear escaping her left eye (extreme close up, zolly, tracking down to follow the tear. Surely we are crying too.) The Bachelor, a bachelor no longer, smiles the devilish smile we have all come to love night after night after night and leans down close to whisper into his wifes ear. The words are barely audible over the swelling strings, but we manage to make it out: Do you like Huey Lewis and the News? Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste, but when sports came out in 83, I think they really came into their own- commercially and artistically... He goes on, of course, but the credits have started to roll. The Power of Love takes us out. Channel Ten logo. Fin.
