This is a great little app for young readers to begin learning to read and for learning new vocabulary and sight words. The app includes 3 sections. These are Listen in which your kids can have the story read to them, Read and Talk in which you read to your child and by pressing on the Living Words a question or game appears to get your child more involved in the story, and the Story Theatre in which kids can create their own version of the story. The read and talk section has 3 level settings. By choosing these settings you can set your childs level, however the only thing it really does is add more living words to each page which in turn offers more discussion and reading comprehension for young children. I love how the reading words come to life on the page and display a little picture when interacted with as this allows young readers to fully understand what is is the word means. I do wish text was highlighted throughout the whole story instead of just having the living words as this would further encourage young readers to further learn to read and recognise more sight words. The living words can also be recorded by yourself so that when your child touches on them they will hear your voice. By interacting with characters on each page kids collect puppets which they can then use to create their story in the story theatre. There are a range of puppets which need to be collected throughout each of the 3 levels of reading to unlock all of the available props.
