SPRING JURIED EXHIBITION CALL FOR ENTRIES!!! On April 18th the Wyoming Valley Art League will host its annual Fall juried exhibition from 5-8pm.However,the reception and award ceremony will take place on April 25th 5pm-7pm. The awards will be presented at 6pm. The WVAL is accepting submissions in 4 categories: Painting, Drawing, Photography & Sculpture/ 3 Dimensional works. Prizes will be awarded in all categories and Best in Show. The juror is Alison Schmidt Carson curator of the Schulman Gallery at LCCC. MEMBERS of the WVAL can submit up to 5 pieces. There is a $5 entry fee per piece. If you are not a current member and wish to join the exhibition you may obtain a membership form by emailing us at: wyomingvalleyartleague.org and a membership form will be sent to you. Artists submitting artwork must be aware that submission does not guarantee the work will be selected or shown; the juror(s) reserve the right to reject work for the show. As with all WVAL shows, submitted pieces must adhere to professional gallery standards: All work must be the artist’s original work – No copyrighted work allowed. All work must be ready to hang with proper wiring, clean glass and frames. No frayed edges. Canvas must be gallery wrapped and have secure stretchers. No saw tooth hangers, string or fishing wire. Wire must be secure standard wire only. Large sculptures must be displayed on pedestals (if more than one) supplied by the artist. At time of submission the artist’s name, address and e-mail (if any), the title of the work, medium (or materials used), size and price (or NFS) must be supplied. Art works must be hand-delivered (with the appropriate fees) to the gallery at 130 South Franklin St, Wilkes-Barre, on Saturday & Sunday April12th & 13th between 12 noon and 2:00 PM. All selected work must be ready to hang and will be on exhibit for the entire length of the show (Through May). Parking may be found on South Franklin Street or in the Army-Navy & Bell Furniture parking lot on South Main Street. Access to the WVAL is through the black door with the WVAL sign. The WVAL encourages artists to present their work for sale. A 20% commission is payable on all work sold and the artist will receive net payment at the end of the show. The Wyoming Valley Art League reserves the right to use images for publicity. Looking forward to seeing you all there and to seeing your work!!
