SR R&D Manager: Category : Food and Beverage Location/City : IL - Id : 3022676 Job Type : Direct Hire Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities: Organize and manage the R&D activities across all business channels to ensure work is properly prioritized and completed in timely manner to deliver results. Execute new products from conception to commercialization by working with sales, marketing, operation, purchasing and quality assurance. Execute pilot plant tests as needed throughout product development process. Write and maintain product specifications related to product development and technical product support. Maintain external and marketplace awareness related to new concepts, products, ingredients and technologies. Proactively engage team members to communicate and lead technical support for development of new products and technologies. Identify and recommend new raw materials, ingredients, materials and processes that improve products and reduce cost. Identify, test and implement new processes and product formulas that lead to new products, cost savings and quality improvements. Provide technical support to operations to ensure product excellence and cost efficiency. Provide technical support to the Marketing and Sales teams in an effort to service existing customers and help gain new ones. Identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities and solutions directed at improving profitability, product quality, food safety and capital avoidance. Actively seek to enhance technical skills through project experience, seminars, professional conference and training programs.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must have value added pork product experience including ham and bacon products. Experience with value added turkey products is a plus.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food technology, ingredient technology and food processing.Demonstrated success in new product launches, technical product support and creative thinking.Demonstrated capability to use new technology to significantly improve profitability, product quality, food safety and manufacturing complexity issues.Leadership and interpersonal skills to guide and motivate team members.Education & Experience:Minimum BS degree in Food Science or related field and 5-10 years experience in the food and beverage industry. dlvr.it/6XZPSP
