SST – Saturday. Personal Development with Senior Vice President, Mr. George Zalucki. I must say that this gentleman has single-handedly helped and guided me to change ‘me’. He has helped to change me as an independent business owner, change me as a leader of a great team, change me as a member in his community, change me as a dedicated family member and change me just as a person in general. All because of the message he speaks about in this topic – “Personal Development”. I have to say that I used to disagree with the terminology of ‘personal’ development; I thought it was really ‘poor marketing’. I felt that particular choice of words made it sound somewhat ‘selfish’. I would much rather preferred the term ‘Professional Development’ as it lends itself to what you can then offer other people – the key ingredient for success as a business owner. Once again, I was educated a little further on this and this ONE next piece of wisdom from this remarkable man changed everything and I mean everything for me, and it did so for good. Mr. Zalucki simply taught me that…“A drowning person saves no one! You must first get yourself into the ‘life-boat’ in order to then throw life-jackets to others.” That one statement put me on a path that has over time resulted in tremendous growth…internally and which now extends itself externally as well. It’s funny how that works – you first become better and then everything around you becomes better. Give that some thought now won’t you as you watch this important subject at hand.
