STAND OUT FROM THE REST: During the presentation ceremony of the Oscar awards, one of the winners, Lupita Nyong’o said, “Your dreams are valid.” One never sees the reality in such a statement until you think of your own dreams. Breaking from the crowd does not mean being arrogant. It means setting yourself apart from the rest. It means keeping the clearest vision on our dream and following it. The world is too busy to notice the second best people. Only the best are recognized. This is a harsh truth, but one the world really loves. Becoming the best is not the easiest thing. It is a journey shaped by concentration and vision. Most of the people who are comfortable in life ironically work harder than the ones who should be struggling to be comfortable. This is actually the reason why they are up there with a few. Only 10% of the people in the world work hard enough to move to the top. This is a lesson in getting away from the pack. You have to shade off the group mentality and work hard as an individual. Am not suggesting that you avoid teamwork. In fact, you should courageously embrace it. However, there comes a time to shrug off the group mentality and show your individual potential. For winners, that time is now. So, what does it take to emerge from the group and be the best? Know our strength and capitalize on them Know the right people and put them close in your networks Keep moving. Don’t stop, no matter what comes Have a stand. Let people know you are a man or woman of your words Appreciate yourself Getting away from the crowd means making your mark. A man once said that, “If you want to make a mark, don’t walk where every other person walks. You need to stand out in order to make your mark. As much as it is slow, even a snail leaves a mark. Why not you? Getting away from the crowd means establishing yourself in the area you can do best. What do you think you can do best? What are you good in? Getting out of the crowd means, you get an identity for yourself. A tag that will follow you all the time. A tag that becomes your line of introduction. Are you ready to get from the crowd?
