‘STARVED TO DEATH’ B’lore woman lay dead in bungalow for five months ----------------------------------------------------------- Bangalore:Among residents of 12th Main Road, Indiranagar, reside present and former IAS and IPS officers. The affluent neighbourhood, however, was shaken on Monday after a 53-year-old woman’s decomposed remains were found in one of the sprawling bungalows in the area. What makes the death of Sheela Reddy, the house owner, even more tragic is that she is believed to have died of starvation at least five months earlier. Half the body had been reduced to a skeleton, while the rest was putrefying, police sources confirmed. The skeleton was found by Sheela’s immediate family members, who knocked on her door after a six-month hiatus. Sheela, a spinster, used to live alone in Balaji Nilaya, a twostorey bungalow located at the ESI hospital end of the 12th main road for the past many years. Police were informed of the woman’s death by her brother Shankar Reddy, who came to the house on Monday evening and found her remains on peeping through the window. “We had to break open the doors and there was heavy stench emanating from the house. The body was in a decayed state and only the skeleton of one half of the body remained. Our initial assessment is that she died at least 4-5 months ago,” said an Indiranagar police officer.
