STATE OF ILLINOIS) COUNTY OF JACKSON) VILLAGE OF DESOTO) Minutes Board of Trustees Regular Meeting June 3, 2013 Anthony Fontana presented information about the rules and procedures for a farmers market. He brought a sample of a market vendor application packet that he had obtained from the organization that holds the farmers market at the old CCHS location. Vendors will pay a fee for site rental and will provide a certificate of liability insurance. Board members and Mr. Fontana agreed that the Seniors Park would be a good location. Board members discussed times and dates, agreeing that Thursdays from 4 PM to 8 PM would be acceptable. Paulette Johnson will get an application packet written that will be suitable for De Soto’s farmers market. Mrs. Johnson, Jana Fann and Alesia Lipe will work on it. She will have it ready for approval at the board meeting on June 17. Mr. Fontana announced that the Carbondale Police Department is holding an event to honor fallen and active Illinois law enforcement officers. The event will be held June 21. Mr. Fontana also volunteered the services of a friend who could make flyers for the farmers market.
