STATE TUITION ASSISTANCE REMINDER! 1. The deadline to apply for State Tuition Assistance (STA) is 15 December for the spring semester. 2. STA funding is tight this year. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. The priorities of funding annotated within the AGONMJC 621-5 may need to be enacted on. Get your applications in as early as you can. 3. Army Soldiers are still required to utilize FTA prior to applying for STA. They can apply for both concurrently as long as the tuition assistance does not exceed 100% of the cost of tuition. This is the case for many Soldiers attending UNM & NMSU where the tuition cost exceeds the $4,500 per year limit imposed on FTA and they attend school year round. 4. Air Guard Airmen do not have access to FTA and are not restricted from applying with the exception of normal eligibility requirements annotated in the AGONMJC 621-5 that all Service Members are held to. You can get always get an updated copy of the AGONMJC 621-5 from your unit RNCO. If they dont have it, tell them to contact the Education Office. 5. Your previous semester grades must be turned in n.l.t. 30 days following the completion of your courses funded with STA funding. If you have not done so, please do. Your current/future STA applications will not be accepted without it. 6. If you fail, withdraw, or otherwise do not complete a course the New Mexico National Guard Tuition Scholarship Program (a.k.a. STA), you will be recouped and will not be allowed further STA. 7. If you are put on hold or on suspension within GoArmyEd for academic reasons, flags, or are referred by your Commander as an unsatisfactory participant, you will not be allowed to utilize STA.
