STATEMENT BY MATT WRACK FBU GENERAL SECRETARY Bucks FBU Yesterday at 6:01am · All I am sure you will be aware in one way or another of the difficulties facing our members in Buckinghamshire. We face a particularly aggressive and increasingly eccentric principal management team who are attempting to intimidate our members and undermine union organisation. We are currently working with local officials to develop a plan to respond. This is being done in very difficult local circumstances. I am sure all officials will be fully supportive of the need to provide assistance from outside the brigade and region as necessary. There are various debates on social media. Speculation and demands for immediate statements are not helpful as the situation is, to say the least, complex. The main emphasis of our message should be: * FBU members are determined to fight for their pensions. * FBU members are responding brilliantly to the strike call. * Its about time Chief Officers supported firefighters for a change. * The FBU will stand by anyone and any group of members facing intimidation We will address the Bucks issue in due course and officials are likely to be asked to play a role in that. In Unity Matt Wrack General Secretary Striking Back fully supports the FBU and we will take our lead from the FBU leadership in solidarity.
