“STAY DUM NO MADDER WUT” (by Ken Dahl) These were the “words” that were actually spray-painted on the back of a building alongside a freeway exit ramp in Tacoma, Washington. My first impression was that some extremely-uneducated person wrote it, but then I realized that it was misspelled incorrectly on purpose – by some neighborhood gang as a culture symbol of non-compliance and unwillingness to buy into the working class’s reality. Although our first impression of those graffiti artists is “Grow the hell up!”, they have also successfully described OUR attitude of how WE often lazily adopt that same juvenile mindset of reality. When it comes to the more progressive theological writers of our time and how it so harmoniously meshes with the study of quantum science, we say “Stay Dum No Madder What”. We reject any new-to-us thoughts, concepts, or views that challenge our old, mostly-inherited doctrines and ideologies, and often in emotional, kneejerk, theologically-arrogant fashion. It is very easy (and even natural) for us to stick to that inherited paradigm that the “old information is ALL the information”. Guess what? It is not, and a significant amount of the world’s population in this generation is beginning to finally come to grips with that fact. The voice from the religious crowd… “STAY DUM NO MADDER WUT”
