STEP UP PARMA CITY SCHOOLS!!! I Posted this on Parma City Schools page to which Im sure Ill get no reply....but I had to say this. If anyone is feeling the same Id love to hear your ideas of what we can do to keep our kids safer. Cause Parma Schools clearly are doing nothing. I got a recorded call yesterday evening that THE DAY BEFORE at Shiloh a child was found to have a knife late in the day and that the police were called. They didnt find it until the end of the day? Children could have been dead already! Not to mention the Administration didnt even notify us that day! They wait till over 24 hrs later! Are they serious?!!! Unreal. So can you tell me why dont we have metal detectors again? Seems so obvious with all the school shootings and bullying no? Is it possible for PCSD to be that blatantly negligent? I havent even mentioned the hit list they found on a kid at Hillside. My brother just informed me of this late last night. Yet they still continue to ignore the completely obvious threat to our children that could be greatly helped with metal detectors and more security. I was given a bunch of excuses when I questioned a member of administration about it. I mean come on...we can protect the airports, courts, and multiple other places but not where our children go to school to be safe? If I put this little effort in keeping my patients safe at the hospital....most would not be alive by the end of my shift. (Im a Registered Nurse) Theyre choosing to ignore a quite obvious problem and I for one am no longer comfortable sending my child to school with absolutely NO confidence that everything is being done to keep my child safe.....because its NOT! Im thinking about involving a lawyer at this point or the news or something. Not sure where Ill start. But our administration should be ashamed and the only way to get any action these days sadly is negative publicity. My son is an honor student, athlete and well behaved child....and he tells me he doesnt feel safe at all. Thats sad and scary to hear. He says things like I hope nothing violent happens in school today Mom, if it does you know I love you right? My 12 yr old should NOT have to feel like this. I never had to feel like this in school growing up. Times are different...Step up Parma City School District and take some responsibility and initiative! This should be your #1 PRIORITY! SO WHY ISNT IT?
