STILL ON THE IMMIGRATION JOB SAGA... Just discovered recently that our greatest challenge now, is no longer corruption in high and low places but acquired cognitive and perceptive disabilities ( ACPD).Depending on which political divide Nigerians belong to, the other side must and should be blamed for every problem afflicting the country. The opposition APC and its protagonists across the country have made this their major political campaign strategy. Blame the President Jonathans Federal Government and his party PDP for everything even when and where the source of the problems are glaringly not with the president and his party. Let me not bore you with a too long preamble and permit me to delve into the substance of my piece..the immigration wahala. NIS APPLICANTS FEIGN INJURIES AND STORM GOVERNMENT HOSPITALS so read the captions of many newspapers and news blogs . That the story is true is not in doubt. This is a direct consequence of the presidential promise to among other things, employ those applicants that sustained injuries during the fatal but unsuccessful recruitment exercise that occurred some days ago. My worry is not the fact that they are going to the hospital to obtain medical certificates. I am appalled that there is no serious outcry against these desperate applicants for trying for the second time, create a problem that will be wholly visited on the wrong quarters. Yes, they want to obtain forged medical certificates like they did before the exercise. No military or paramilitary organization can accept any application from persons who have not included a certificate of clean bill of health from a qualified doctor working in a government hospital. This is the norm. I am not trying in anyway to mock those that died in that exercise but it is no longer news that majority of those who came for the interview forged their medical certificates. They never went for the tests. What does that tell you? You can only decline such test if you suspect or know your health is defective. Once more, I pray for the repose of the souls of the ones that died. In as much as I am not exonerating the system for creating the situation of desperation, but compromising your life for a job that we all know too well is not,as a matter of certainty, fully available, is exhibiting your frustration too far. A pregnant woman was reported among the fatal casualties in Benin. Did you hear me..a pregnant woman. Now, where in the world would a pregnant woman go for a paramilitary recruitment. And where in the world would a doctor signed a forged medical report and give it to a pregnant woman to look for a paramilitary job..only in naija they say. Now, here we are again. The applicants still have not learnt their lessons. They want to pretend injuries and get incorrect medical reports. They are doing this because, they know that the highly politically poisoned minds of the masses will exonerate the dire consequences of their actions. If any of them gets health challenges for using a fake medical report, the APC is sure to exploit it politically by putting the blame on the federal government and the already discredited nigerian hospitals staff. This can only stop when we begin to see things with our eyes, hear things with our ears and perceive things with our senses, not with political lenses and stenthoscopes. Oladimeji Balogun(Pseudo)
