STOP FEELING GUILTY OVER THE HOLIDAYS So now that the over-eating, gluttonous holidays are behind us, most people are left with left over desserts, and worse, left over GUILT. So toss out the high-calorie foods and that guilty attitude, and start BEFORE the new year. Yes, we have all been there - that guilty feeling after overdoing the holiday - guzzling sugary cocktails, and eating cookies and dinner rolls like Pillsbury was going out of business. But the worst thing you can do is beat yourself up about it. I have learned that the worst thing you can do is feel guilty for things that cannot be undone. You cant go back and undo overeating, BUT you can stop putting yourself down and say today is the day that I am going to take charge of my life and my health. Dont wait another week or two weeks after the desserts have disappeared and your attitude toward your body image takes an even deeper dive. I tell clients, family and friends to enjoy the holidays (unless of course you are in competition prep). Like most people, myself included, we tend to overdo it, but instead of feeling guilty and upset about it, accept it and move on! As soon as you let go of the guilt you can move forward and begin to make good choices.
