STOP THE PRESSES!!!! I just left my insurance agents office. He walked me through my options with the ACA, and to put it mildly, Im one happy latte-slingin mo-fo. Without going into specifics, the fact that I had a less than stellar year in 2013 (not that Im exactly *thankful* for the heart attack, but you know...) worked slightly in my favor. And factoring in the outrageous prices Ive been paying for my premiums, my deductible and co-pays, I just signed up for a plan that will cost me LESS THAN HALF what Ive been paying! Again, Im not going to go into numerical detail. But for me, for my situation, the Affordable Care Act is a goddamn dream come true! Yes, Im happy. :) So bite me, unregulated healthcare industry. No more bleeding me for your Lexus payments!
