STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART Breaking the Shackles that Bind We are bound by chains of unpleasant memories – invisible but have the power to render us prisoners of our minds. The links of these chains are guilt over wrong doings, resentment over broken relationships, fear of being hurt, lack of self-confidence, sins of unforgiveness, bitterness, doubt and unbelief in God, etc. When our minds are bound by these shackles, our thoughts will be also. You see every decision we make begin with a thought therefore our actions and decisions can be distorted by the shackles of past memories. , Our conscience is our judge and memories of the wrong things we did become the shackles that bind us and cause us to punish ourselves by thinking that God is angry with us. The truth is Jesus, by the shedding of His blood on the cross at Calvary entered into the holy presence of God, and obtained eternal redemption for us by that blood to purge and cleanse our conscience from guilt over dead works, to serve the living God. (Heb. 9:12-14). Jesus broke the shackles that bind. Let us enjoy our freedom and use our minds to help advance the Kingdom of God. Have a blessed day.
