STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT: THESE CRITICAL DEPARTMENTS MUST NOT DISAPPEAR Many medium and large corporations are doing away with the following Departments : 1) QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT With 2 heads as follows : a) SERVICE IMPROVEMENT MANAGER. b) PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT MANAGER plus other staff. 2) RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT OR INNOVATION DEPARTMENT. Headed by a RESEACH AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER . plus staff. To reasearch and bring new services and products . Many organizations did cite cost control as the main reason, but it is strategically fatal to do that ! These are CORE DEPARTMENTS , and i would personally rank them as first and second .
