STRIKE: NANS, NUSA APPEAL TO ASUU TO ACCEPT FG’S OFFER. The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the Nigerian University Students’ Association (NUSA) in Zone “C” has appealed with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to accept the offer made by the Federal Government to them. In a joint statement signed by Speaker of NUSA, Comrade Shu’aibu Mohammed and the NANS coordinator Zone C, Comrade Adio Friday after a protest match in Lafia, Nasarawa State, urged ASUU to accept the offer made by the government and return to classroom while negotiation continues saying that it would be for the interest of the students. The student’s organisations said they implore ASUU to device a means of resolving their demands with the government rather than embarking on a nationwide strike that is more detrimental to the students who are at the receiving end. According to the statement, they appealed to the government to consolidate on the progress made saying that government shouldn’t have waited until the strike degenerated to this extent. -CULLED FROM DAILY TRUST
