STUDIO DIARY 31/7 3pm: The string section got into the studio for a bit of experimentation and tones chasing. Simon was sold on the Ampeg Vintage. It was love at first sight. Scott was spoilt for choice to find the right amp and cab combination that best compliments his MI Amplification Megalith. The contenders: Amps • Peavey 5150 2 (heavily modded) • Peavey 5150 single ch block letter • Peavey 6505 (stock) • Engl Powerball 2 Cabs • Orange cab • Engl cab (v60s) • Messa cab A couple of hours were spent trying different combos. The tone of choice was found using the Engl amp through the Messa cab. 31/7 6pm: Brad & eXplain joined the better half to check progress on drum edits which are coming along nicely. Tomorrow, we hit record again and get started on tracking guitars! - FR
