SUCCESS: OPPORTUNITY PLUS ABILITY When the noise is all over...I will still have my pride and my dignity, while someone will be fighting over a promise to be Press Secretary. When people speak, look not only upon the words they say, but think deeper to see the games they play! I made no deals or requests to be where I am today. In 2011, when I returned from University, I came in to be the spokesperson for the SLP. My priority back then was to do this well and leave a mark that cannot be erased. I was not preoccupied with where I wanted to be if the SLP won elections. Rather, I was preoccupied with winning the elections. Even after, I was not on the line seeking reward. Somebody saw the potential. I believe in NOW. Fast forward to 2014. My preoccupation is doing my job well and setting a standard that not even the degree holders in communication and those who allegedly have served as PR consultants in large firms can easily offset. You see, wherever I am, my focus is to shine there. Right now, I am not focused on 2016. I am not engaging in backdoor deals in the event. My focus is NOW. What I do is motivated by NOW. I am paid for NOW. If I do NOW, then I take care of the future. If you are failing where you are NOW and working towards a promise made for the future without addressing your failures of NOW, in the future, you will continue to be a failure. Take a step back and perfect the NOW. That which you were employed, selected or elected to do NOW should not suffer because of a promise to do something else in the future. A promise and a handout can get you a job, but it can never make you a success. Success is more than opportunity. Success is driven by your ability.~JJP
