SULTAN PRAYS TO GOD TO EXPOSE AGENTS OF VIOLENCE Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has condemned the incessant maiming and killings in the country which he described as ungodly. Speaking on last week’s attacks targeted at two prominent leaders in the country, the monarch prayed to Allah to expose the perpetrators and their sponsors. This was contained in his Sallah message to the Muslim Ummah across the country which he delivered shortly after observing the Eid prayers, yesterday. “Insecurity is a source of concern in the country, particularly in the North, because of the massive loss of lives and property. Look at what happened in Kaduna last week, two bomb blasts targeted at prominent individuals. This is barbaric and ungodly. I call on the perpetrators to fear God and desist from this abominable act or may God expose them and their sponsors if they continue wrecking havoc on innocent Nigerians,” he said. He stressed that social justice was the only antidote to the current security challenges, calling on political leaders to fear God and govern the people justly. “Leadership is a trust and we will all be accountable to God,” he added.
