SUN UP by Judy Planting Sun up, Blue skies, Slight breeze Riffles my hair. Green trees Turning gold Over ponds With ducks untold. Golfers strolling round, The rolling greens, And hilly mounds Impress me now. Sitting still Is not my forte, While we rest On the patio … gazing about! Guess I’ll up And walk around, Good friend at my side. This is the life! The air is just so fine; Black birds sit atop Pussy willows Lining ponds. Page 1 of 2, Sun Up Page 2 of 2, Sun Up Deep sigh As I drink it in; God’s plan Implodes my mind. We circle round, Come back again To the friends We left behind. Laughing, talking Seated on the patio, They make their orders To the waitresses … who finally appeared! It’s really just so sweet To fellowship here, Pulling up a chair To friends so real. How God has provided For simple things to sooth the soul, Bringing us home … to the joy He planned!
