**SUNDAY-MONDAY SYSTEM** SECOND REPORT - 1:42 PM, 1/10/15 **SUBJECT TO CHANGE** Friends: Some minor changes to the thoughts I posted last night. The precipitation is still expected to start as rain to our South and West early Sunday evening. A period of wintry mix is still expected somewhere near or North of US Route 50 early Monday morning. Data for areas from Parkersburg and South suggest that precipitation will mostly be a cold rain before a changeover to snow Monday afternoon. Most in the Coverage Area will see snow on the back side of the system. Travel may become an issue in all areas. WHAT WE ARE CONFIDENT IN - Probability of precipitation for the entire Coverage Area is 100% with this system. - Most will see some snow Monday afternoon. Accumulation will likely be an inch or less but travel may become tricky due to wet pavement freezing. And a cold rain on pavement may still freeze above 32 degrees due to the recent Arctic airmass. - Snow accumulation and ice accretion amounts are less important than potential impacts on you (driving, school, and power). Afternoon and evening commutes will likely be tricky. WHAT WE ARE LESS CONFIDENT IN - The placement of the area of sleet and freezing rain. A shift in any direction will cause significant changes in our thinking. - Impacts on morning travel. If more warm air feeds into the system than expected, then the impact on the morning commute becomes significantly less. If temperatures remain closer to freezing, conditions become more of an issue for morning travel.
