SUNDAY MORNING STORM WATCH: EC has issued a second warning for - TopicsExpress

SUNDAY MORNING STORM WATCH: EC has issued a second warning for most if not all the areas with a FREEZING RAIN WARNING. A HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING HAS BEEN ADDED. I dont think this means we are going to get both, though it could but looking at the forecast, I think EC is just covering themselves. The temperature is 0. It is going to bounce between 0 and -1 all day. If it decides to warm up those ice pellets or freezing rain will quickly change to rain. A couple of degrees is all that is needed. All of NB is under one kind of warning or another from HEAVY RAINFALL and FREEZING RAIN in the south to a BLIZZARD warning on the Acadian Peninsula and there is just about every other kind of winter warning in between. If you need to travel by car somewhere today. Check ECs web page and the warning posted for that area. I have posted the most recent radar image. You can see it is playing out much like the graphics I posted this weekend said it would. I hope for the sake of the trees we do not get as much freezing rain as expected but if it does not come as freezing rain, it will as heavy rainfall, which will also make a mess, cause flooding and leave ice rinks in its wake. I am glad it is not up to me to decide. :-) All the yellow on the radar image is HEAVY rain. So whatever we get, there is a fair amount of it on the way. Overnight we likely will just get rain since temperatures are suppose to rise to +1. Tomorrow more rain with a high of +2. Keep in mind to see some of the images in full you need to click on them.
