SUNDAY SERMON SYNOPSIS BY ANGELA RICKETTS MURRAY Let Jesus Take the Wheel Acts 27:1-44 (key verse v.15) True breakthrough will require understanding that: 1. God is a God of process. 2. In the midst of process, there will be tests. The purpose of tests are to assess where we are in the process. Periodically God will test us to see where we are. He wants assess whether or not we are ready to move to the next level. When we fail the test, we start the process over. Thats why many of us find ourselves taking the same tests over and over. The path to breakthrough does always follow what we have been planned. We have to step back and let Jesus take the wheel. We need Him to navigate our path. In the passage, Paul was headed to Rome to appear before Caesar. During the journey, Paul who was traveling as a prisoner tried to tell the Captain that it was too dangerous to continue to travel in the storm. Paul was in bondage (condition) but he was still an Apostle (position). His condition did not change who he was. He still heard from God...even with the chains on. (There will be times when we cant help ourselves but we will still be able to help everyone else around us.) The captain did not take heed to Pauls warning. The continued on the journey. The storm worsened and in verse 15...they had no choice but to take their hands off the wheel and let Jesus take control. We may be in a storm but that does not mean the Jesus is not in control. Sometimes He allows us to go through storms to test our faith. We have to take our hands off and let Him handle it. The angels visited Apostle Paul on the ship to reassure him that he would get to his destiny along with everyone who was in the ship with him. (v.23-24) It was on the 14th day of their fasting that they received the strategy for their Breakthrough... the ship wrecked and all were saved. Some were able swim, some on boards and some on broken pieces of the ship. ***Its not about how we get there or who gets there first...the important thing is that we get there. We cannot focus on the process.*** Verse 31 lets us know that it is imperative that we remain in the ship until its the proper time. We cannot abandon ship until its the right time to step out on faith. During the process, its important to hold on to the anointing and let go of everything else. We will reach our destiny...our condition will not change our position...we will be what God has destined us to be! ~Bishop Coleman @GNHCM 1/26/2014
