We cannot talk about His power and not His power, his word speaks of His deeds. The word gives us an opportunity to see who God is, God is in His word. He cannot be separated from His word. With every challenge that comes your way, God has already given you a way out. The word of the Lord has all the answers you need. Samaria has been sieged by the king of Samaria, nothing came in and nothing went out. There was a man inflicted siege in the land of Samaria. The drought was not because God closed the heaven and stopped the rain from coming but it was there because there was someone seated at the gate of the city, not allowing trade to happen. The city had only one gate, so there was no other way that could have been used to access the city. People started eating donkey meat because of the drought, women started eating their own babies; the situation was so bad that mothers had lost their love for and value for their children. If the devil wants to put people at the situation of Samaria, he will sit at the gate of their exchange and close down all gates of favour. We have people whose famine is not from God but from the devil. We have people who misinterpret everything at a physical level whereas there is a king (devil) on the gate of their lives. Samaria is in a blessed land but it is hungry, you can be in a blessed place, surrounded by blessed people but still be hungry, WHY: THE ENEMY HAS SAT AT YOUR GATE!!! People tend to blame one another when their gates are closed; they begin to turn against each other. If you are a person who always has an excuse for not doing anything, you are lazy, lazy people always have an excuse. You should know that laziness and poverty go hand in hand; confinement and poverty go hand in hand. When Samaria confined, it became poor. The problem with Samaria and the Samaritans of today (church) is that you become so accustomed to the situation you are in and you end up not wanting to move. When Elisha gave the prophecy of food to the people of Samaria, there was a lord whom the hand of the king leaned upon; this man did not believe the word the prophet had released. He had been in that state of having no food for a long time that when the prophet released a word he doubted it. We have people today, whom when the pastor begins to tell, “God is about to take you out”, they ask, “how can it be, how can the Lord do it?” The lord further said “if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this be...” this shows that the man knew God, for the bible in Malachi 3:10 explains of how God will open the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing. He knew the windows of heaven releases a blessing, the prophet released a word of blessing but the boy did not believe it. Faith is fiction, how can you worship something you don’t see yet you experience His power, fiction is when something that is not, appears as though it is. When faith does not seem like fiction, it is not faith. The man knew that the prophecy was not from a man but it was from God. The problem with people, they want to question but they do not want to believe. When you doubt what Elisha has said, you will see but not eat, the bible states that, believe God and you shall be established, but believe His prophets you shall prosper. To be established means to be built, when you are in a courtship, you are established but you prosper when you are in a peaceful marriage. Believe in what the prophets of God have said, because they don’t speak of themselves but of God. The lord had also forgotten Luke 1:37 “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” If you believe in God you will be established but if you believe in His prophets you will prosper. Every word God spoke and criticized will not come to pass in your life, but you will see it happen to the person next to you. The principle is; if you do not believe the word God spoke, you will see it but will not enjoy it. The man died in poverty because He did not believe, when others went to enjoy the blessing of God, he did not. The man mocked God, and he died. Whenever you mock God, you are applying for death in your marriage, business, finances and career. YOU WILL NOT ESCAPE IT!!!
